Armenian government sole owner of Nuclear Power Plant

The Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural resources denies Gazprom Director Aleksey Miller's statement on his company's being a joint owner of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant.

"Under the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant is considered Armenia's state property. The law prohibits any attempt to alienate its shares," the ministry's public relations department told Tert.am.

The ministry is also planning to issue an official statement in this connection.

This comes after Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper's Tuesday publication commenting on Gazprom director's "sensational statement".
