Ethnic Armenian killed in Samara is Russian citizen

The ethnic Armenian, Armen Sahakyan, recently killed in the Russian town of Samara proved to be a citizen of the Russian Federation, Armenia Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan told Tert.am.

"The Armenian Embassy in Moscow maintains contacts with the body conducting the investigation," he said.

Sahakyan who was a third year student at Samara State University's law department died of a stab wound in the chest.

Investigators are studying all possible motives leading up to his murder. Sahakyan's relatives in the meantime confirm that he didn't have personal enemies.
