Presentation of film about great Armenian composer postponed

The year 2011 marks the 90th birthday of renowned Armenian composer Arno Babajanyan.

"Our Arno … and All About Him", a documentary devoted to the composer was to be presented today on the occasion of his birthday, but the event was rescheduled due to financial difficulties. Instead, Babajanyan's friend Mark Petrosyan who is the script-writer and producer of the film held a news conference to introduce the plot of the documentary featuring the life of the musician.

"It was long ago that I came up with the idea of creating the film. And when I met Arno's son in Moscow and told him my idea, he promised to assist in the project financially. The sums were provided by Babajanyan foundation in the person of Jack Hakobyan, my great friend. No we are looking forward to the film arrangement activities, which is the lion's share of our project," he said.

In the film which lasts 50 minutes celebrities (Kobzon, Yevtushenko, Pakhmutova etc.) tell about Babajanyan. Their stories are accompanied by the great composer's melodies.
