Russian Foreign Minister Sergrey Lavrov will receive Monday the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers, Edward Nalbandyan and Elmar Mamedyarov, in Moscow.

As the Russian news agency ITAR TASS reported, the meeting will focus on the further prospects of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

"The sides will discuss preparatory issues regarding the co-chairs' visit to the region in February. The Moscow meeting will take place upon the initiative of the Russian side," a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman has said.

Novruz Mamedov, the head of the Foreign Relations Department at the Azerbaijanu presidential administration, announced earlier that the Moscow meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers will determine the further course of the negotiations over Karabakh. He said the peaceful talks have been fruitless so far even though Azerbaijan intends to continue the process.
