Settlement of Karabakh conflict will bring peace and security to region - Davutoglu
The settlement of the existing problems between Armenia and Azerbaijan will bring peace and security to the region, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Monday, speaking at the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
The Turkish TV channel NTV reported that Davutoglu also addressed the problem of terrorism.
Asked about the possibility of establishing a dialogue with the leader of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Abdullah Ocalan, he ruled out anything of the kind.
"Democratic societies do not enter into a dialogue with terrorists," he said.
Speaking of Armenia, he characterized the country as "Turkey's future good friend".
"There are two types of neighbors for Turkey – friend and future friend. We perceive Armenia as a future friend," the Turkish top diplomat announced.
