The Turkish government has done its utmost to solve the assassination case of the editor-in-chief of Agos weekly, Hrant Dink, according to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In an interview with Yavuz Arslan, a journalist of the Turkish publication Bugun, the Turkish premier said the attacker had been detained, although it's still unclear who had given him the instruction.

"We detained the attacker within 36 hours, but the court hearings have been going on for the fourth year running. A decision was recently made to convict the attacker as a minor. We did what we were required to. It's now time for the court system to function."

Yavuz Arslan is the author of the book entitled "About an Armenian: the Disclosure of Hrant Dink's Murder". The book which was published in Turkey last week contains details on the assassination of the Armenian-Turkish journalist.

During an interview with Erdogan, Arslan presented the Turkish premier with a copy of his book.
