Over 70 cases of swine flu were registered in Georgia as of January 26, 2011, according to the country's Minister of Health and Social Issues Andrey Urushadze.

"The number of swine flu cases not confirmed through laboratory testing exceeds 70 but that shouldn't give rise to panic," he has told journalists.

He said all the hospitals in the country have received relevant medicines and increased access to out-patient services to reduce the possibility of complications.

RBK news agency reports that four people, including one pregnant woman, have died of swine flu since early January.

Russia's Chief Sanitary Doctor Genady Onishchenko has said earlier that the swine flu cases have become increasingly widespread in Europe and Russia as well.
