Armenia has no proper literature on its army - Komandos
Ever since gaining independence, Armenians have not created proper literature reflecting the history of their army, Artsakh war legendary veteran Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Komandos) told a news conference on Thursday.
"Over the 19 years of independence, we never managed to create proper literature on our army," he said.
"We seem to have forgotten everything. Now we are ashamed to say that we were coerced into a war. We had to go to the battlefield not to cede our lands to the enemy. We speak today of the Karabakh war and the liberation of Shushi, but does anyone know what happened actually? We speak of the battles in Khojalu where I was a commander, but has anyone ever talked to me about it?"
The commander said the defense operations in Artsakh were launched in a period when Armenia had no army at all.
"The enemy outnumbered us. They possessed more arms and ammunitions than we did. It was during the years of war that we created detachments to defend the country. We were volunteers then and had set a goal not let the enemy invade and ruin our lands. No measures were being taken on the state level," he recalled.
