Armenia has never sold or resold weapons to Iran, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has told Echo Moskwy radio station.

He said there's no military-technical cooperation between the two countries.

In response to the journalist's comment that the recent WikiLeaks disclosure on an alleged weapons deal with Iran may cause certain problems with the west, Sargsyan said: "Those are just fairy tales. Even WikiLeaks says nothing of the kind. What the leaked cables say is an incident which really occurred. That's about a single-use grenade launchers that were somehow delivered to Iran from Armenia. Those dischargers allegedly caused harm to some soldiers in Iraq. By the way, there were Armenian troops in Iraq.

Armenia has never resold weapons to Iran. There is no military-technical cooperation between our countries. Nothing of the kind has ever happened."

The president also said Armenia recognizes Iran's peaceful use of nuclear power.

"We voice our opinion on the issue everywhere. We also operate a nuclear power plant and find that Iran too, has the right to use nuclear power. We are certainly interested that any activities in that direction be supervised by International Atomic Energy Agency."
