Armenia hails the referendum in South Sudan, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan has said.
In an interview with Armenpress news agency, FM Nalbandyan mentioned that the preliminary voting results in the country showed that free self-determination is each nation's unalienable right.
"Over the 60 years of the United Nations history, the Sudanese people's decision has become the freshest example of choosing self-determination as the only right way of resolving one's own problems, and the international community definitely hails the process," he said.
"We are hopeful that determining its own faith through the free will expression of its people, the Southern Sudan will succeed in its further efforts to build an independent statehood."
