Nasdaq denies data loss from hacker attack
Nasdaq OMX, which owns the Nasdaq Stock Market, has confirmed that a security breach has taken place in its network – although it denies that any data loss has occurred, Ccryptzone.com reported.
The group admitted that it found suspicious files on computer servers that allow company leaders and board members to share confidential documents.
So far, investigators have not found any evidence of data loss from Directors Desk, which is not connected with Nasdaq's trading platform.
Nasdaq OMX chief financial officer Adena Friedman and Vince Palmiere, the vice-president of investor relations, said the incident is one of many cyber attacks that occur against governments and organisations "constantly".
"We continue to evaluate and enhance our advanced security controls to respond to the ever increasing global cyber threat and continue to devote extensive resources to further secure our systems," they said.
