Armenia's National Gallery to host "Armenians' Traces in Brazil" September 2011

Armenia's Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Friday the Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Brazil to Armenia, Marsela Nikodemos.

The parties discussed the program - titled "Armenians' Traces in Brazil" - dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia and the Independence Day of the Federal Republic of Brazil.

Hakobyan and Nikodemos agreed on joining efforts to organize the events planned within the program from September 2011.

The main event of the program will be a namesake exhibit - "Armenians' Traces in Brazil" - to be held in Armenia's National Gallery from September 7-21 this year through the joint efforts of Armenia's Ministry of Diaspora and Brazil's Embassy in Yerevan.

The exhibit is aimed at showing through photos and videos the stories of the Armenian refugees in Brazil.

Also planned is a conference that will focus on the role the Armenian Diaspora played in the development of Brazil.

Some outstanding Brazilian-Armenians are also planned to be invited to the conference.

Publication of a book on the emigration of Armenians to Brazil and their integration to the Brazilian society will also be part of the program.

In October there will also be concerts, dedicated to the Brazilian-Armenian composer Ricardo Tacuchian and to the art of guitar player Joan Kuyumjian.

Hranush Hakobyan suggested also shooting a film about on "Armenian's Traces in Brazil".
