Orange Armenia launches Wi-Fi internet service
Orange Armenia company launched Tuesday a new service offering a Wi Fi Internet connection everywhere.
The company now offers a 3G/Wi-Fi modem which is expected to change entirely the existing ideas on Wi-Fi internet connection.
MyFi, the new modem, can be connected to up to five devices, including a computer, telephone, play stations and a personal Wi-Fi.
Speaking on this occasion, Orange CEO, Bruno Duthoit, said: "Back in late 2010, when we organized the Orange Expo exhibition of innovative technologies, we had the chance to present the capacities of this device . We weren't planning then to bring MyFi to Armenia but seeing the interest of many visitors, as we realized that the customers were looking forward to that. We are happy to be the first to launch this interesting and innovative device for our customers, bringing about changes in our ideas about time, space and Wi-Fi internet capacities".
"We offer several tariff plans to WiFi subscribers, ranging from 7,000 drams [about $20] per month," said Orange Marketing Director Aram Mkrtchyan.
"They can choose the tariff plan they consider the most convenient for themselves, depending on their personal needs. The modem can be purchased for 1 dram. Subscribers are required to sign a two-year contract".
Thanks to Orange's wide coverage (95% of Armenia), MyFi modem is availabe in all the regions of Armenia, including the remotest rural communities.
