UN House hosts art exhibition dedicated to International Women's Day

An art exhibition dedicated to International Women's Day (8 March, 2011) was opened today in the UN House.

This year's exhibition is titled “Equal access to education, training and science and technology: Pathway to decent work for women", says a release issued by the United Nations Armenia Office.

The exhibition showcased bright paintings by two talented Armenians - Flora Baghdasaryan and Vladimir Grigoryan. Their art work displayed at the UN House attracted the attention of various groups of people, including youth, artists, the international community, civil society groups, the media and the general public.

Speaking on the occasion, UN Resident Coordinator Dafina Gercheva said: “Through Armenian artwork, the UN Office in Armenia wishes to once again attract public attention to the promotion of gender equality and to pay a tribute to women’s contributions to the political, economic, cultural and social sphere of Armenian society.” (TBC)

The exhibition will run through April 28. It will be open to the public between 12:00 and 15:00 pm from Monday to Friday
