Famous Turkish singer attacked in Istanbul

Famous Turkish singer Ibrahim Tatlises was subjected to an armed attack in central Istanbul last night, the Turkish media reported.

Tatlises, an ethnic Kurd, was assaulted by unknown individuals, as he came of the Nurol Plaza business center after a shooting session. The armed gangsters who assaulted the singer from a car shot him in the head. His assistant Buket Cakici is also reported to have been wounded.

Tatlises is currently in hospital in a critical condition.

An investigation has been launched into the matter.
