Yerevan to host Armmono theater fest in April

The 2011 international theater festival Armmono will be organized in Yerevan in April.

The event will run from April 3 to 8, festival spokesperson Vlad Muradyan has told Tert.am.

This year's program includes 17 performances, with actors and actresses invited from Russia, France, Germany, Israel, Latvia and Egypt. Renowned German actor Philipp Hochmair will open the festival with the performance "Verter". Actor of Moscow's Vakhtangov Theater Yuri Kraskov will play his mono-performance "Hearing in Distance". The Russian series also includes the mono-performance "Nobody" by Irina Yevdokimova.

The international festival program also includes theatrical performances by famous actors and actresses Veronica Daniel (Music of Desires, France), Jean-Paul Chen Tu (The First Man, France), Gabriella Muskala (Trip to Buenos Aires, Germany), Samaa Ibrahim (Carmen, Egypt), Birute Mar (Lithuania) and Howard Rippi (Israel).

This year's event will also involve performances by Armenian actors and actresses. Ara Baghinyan will play in "Ara the Handsome" mono-performance. Other performances in the Armenian series include Fiesta (Samvel Baghimnyan), Marsel (Mariam Ghazanchyan), Sevilian Lady … (Hasmik Verdyan) etc.

Armmono was first held on September 24, 2003. The festival founder is Hakob Ghazanchyan, head of the Union of Theatrical Figures.
