Nagorno Karabakh president meets theatrical figures

On the occasion of the World Theatre Day, President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR, Artsakh) Bako Sahakyan received members of the country's Drama Art on Saturday, according to the Central Information Department of the NKR presidential office.

A wide range of issues on the current situation in theatres and possibilities of their further development were discussed at the meeting.
Minister of Youth Affairs and Culture Narine Aghabalyan, also attending the meeting, delivered a report.

The President said theater was a key element for preserving national culture and universal human values, and added that a great number of problems in the sphere needed an urgent solution.

He particularly focused on the reconstruction of Stepanakert Drama Theatre and said that a recommendation for elaborating the project has been issued.

Sahakhyan also stressed the importance of having young and talented people in theatres and improving the theatres' moral and psychological atmosphere.
