First Armenian 3D animation goes on screen

The first Armenian 3D animation will go on screen at the Moscow Cinema on April 6.

Cockroach, a joint Armenian-Russian animation film, was first presented in Moscow, its producer Vahe Sargsyan, told a news conference on Wednesday.

He said it had taken the survey squad three years to shoot the film which lasts 77 minutes, and about $4.5 million had been spent on the project.

Cockroach was shot in Touch FX by Director Armen Adilkhanyan.

The animation which features the life of a red cockroach tells a story of love, friendship and victory.

"The hero of the film is a red cockroach, and his image was selected to demonstrate that even the most abhorrent animal can deserve love, by being good and kind," Sargsyan said. "There has been both positive and negative criticism on the scenario, as well as the technical aspect. We take everything into consideration as this was our first experience."

Sargsyan said they have launched the second project which has been in progress for six months.

In an interview with Tert.am, Touch FX director Vardan Karapetyan said that that they had used 3D max and Motion Builder programs for producing the film
