Hayphone reminds Yerevan residents of Armenian national culture

An Armenian youth movement called Hayphone initiated a singing march from the statue of Aram Khachatryan in the centre of Yerevan on Saturday.

The activists, singing Armenian national songs and dancing national dances, walked down the Northern Bloc to traverse the Republic Square to Moscow Cinema, where they will continue singing and dancing.

Further, they will reach Yeritasardakan Metro Station and will continue their campaign there.

Speaking to Tert.am, Nune Hayrapetyan, a member of the movement, said that the initiative is aimed at reminding people about the Armenian national culture.

According to her, today radio and TV stations do not offer the Armenian culture as an alternative to the foreign one.

Harutyun Tsaturyan, another member of the movement said that they turned to Minister of Education Hasmik Poghosyan, who accepted them, said she shares their concerns but expressed regret that the ministry couldn’t help them.
