Armenian Youth Camp Baze kicks off in Byurakan

Armenian Youth Camp Baze is kicking off in the village of Byurakan in Aragatsotn province on July 22 and is scheduled to last till July 31.

According to a press release by Armenian Youth Foundation the camp will bring together more than 700 Armenian youth (ranging from 18-30) from ten provinces and 12 administrative districts of the capital Yerevan.

The participants will live in tents and will take part in sports and cultural events throughout the camp that the Armenian Youth Foundation will jointly organize with the Armenian National Scout Organization.

The camp will take place in three shifts with the participants representing one of the colors of Armenia's tricolor national flag. Around 220 people will take part in stage.

During the camp the Armenian office of the International Committee of the Red Cross will organize first aid course.

A hike to medieval fortress Amberd in the bottom of Aragats Mountain will be part of the program.

The participants will also stage a play titled "The Mystery of Byurakan". They will also sing national songs, dance national dances and play games.

The participants of the Baze camp will also meet high-ranking officials. On July 22 they will be visited by Armenia's Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Youth Foundation.
