Armenian cross-stone at Armenian church in Gliwice

A khachkar (cross-stone) was installed at the Armenian catholic Holy Trinity church in Gliwice, Poland, July 9. Numerous Armenians, as well as other people, attended the ceremony, the Yerkramas newspaper, published by the Armenian community in Russia, reports, referring to the Foundation of Culture and Heritage of Polish Armenians.

Participating in the ceremony was a delegation of the Ukrainian diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church led by Archbishop Grigorios Buniatyan, who presided over the ceremony. Among the participants were also the Armenian catholic priest Cezary Annusewicz, Pastor Artur Avdalyan, Senior Priest of the Lvov cathedral Tadeos Gevorgyan and other clergymen.

The Nazani chorus, invited from Armenia, performed at the opening ceremony.

Attending the ceremony was also the Gliwice vice-mayor and the Armenian Ambassador to Poland.

The cross-stone was transported by aircraft of the Armenian defense office.

Gliwice is the fifth Polish city where an Armenian cross-stone has been installed.
