National currency park may be created in Yerevan

The creator of the Armenian national currency Karen Komendaryan has made a proposal to lay out a "Park of national currency" in Yerevan.

"My proposal is that commemorative or, to be precise, collection, coins be displayed at the park. They are dedicated to the Armenian people's achievements and heritage, as well as to famous Armenians and even to Armenian flora and fauna," Komendaryan told journalists.

After visiting foreign countries, he realized that people do not know about Armenia much. "People mixed Armenia with Romania and Albania, to say thing of Armenian values," he said.

To prevent misunderstanding, Komendaryan pointed out that only commemorative coins that contain special information and are not in circulation will be displayed at the park.

Las February Komendaryan submitted his proposal to the Armenian president, prime minister and chairman of the Central Bank. They welcomed the proposal. The Yerevan city hall plans to discuss the proposal soon. "It will be a message to the entire world," Komendaryan said.
