Armenian women like Facebook

According to statistical data, Armenia has 190,000 Facebook users (6.4% of the country's population) and ranks 117th in the relevant list, Armine Ghazaryan, an expert at the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS), told journalists.

Research shows the network is actively expanding in Armenia. "Day by day, the Facebook is more and more actively used. Various people and NGOs get registered and offer their services now," she said.

Women constitute 56% of Armenian Facebook users. Also, young people aged 18-24 constitute 37%, 25-34, 30%, 35-44, 10%
Facebook is a source of graphic representation of socio-political life. Some people and events are mainly discussed in "a positive vein". On the other hand, some users strongly condemn the same people or events. In some cases, diametrically opposite opinions are expressed. Some discussions are even "aggressive," said the expert.
