Three Blackberry models to be launched in September
Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) is rolling out three new BlackBerry Curve smartphone models that will operate on BlackBerry 7, The Wall Street Journal reported.
The launch comes just weeks after the Waterloo, Ont. company announced the biggest new device rollout in its history - and its first new models in about a year - in an effort to rejuvenate its flagging brand as it competes with offerings from Apple Inc. (AAPL) and Google Inc. (GOOG).
RIM said the new BlackBerry Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370 smartphones are expected to be available from carriers in Canada this month and from other carriers around the world starting in September. Specific availability dates and pricing weren't disclosed.
In early August, RIM announced five new smartphones - the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and 9930, as well as three new Torch devices, including two versions of a touch-screen-only model.
