Armenia holds annual Barbecue Festival (video)

Armenia held Monday the third annual Barbecue Festival in the yard of Surb Astvatsatsin Church in Lori region.

The organizers have dedicated the festival to the 20th anniversary of the country's independence and prepared a 20-meter-long brazier.

The event had brought hundreds of tourists from across the world, as well as dozens of culinary associations from Armenia, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Georgia, as well as guests from Georgia who competed with their mastery of barbecue making.

The festival aims to preserve and develop the Armenian culinary traditions. All the proceeds of the barbecue sold during the festival will be used for the renovation of the Surb Astvatsatsin Church in Akhtala.
