Alessandro Safina to sing for 'special audience' in Yerevan

World-famous Italian tenor Alessandro Safina will sing for the Armenian audience in Yerevan's Aram Khachatryan concert hall on Saturday.

Cesaria Evoro was earlier scheduled to give a concert, but the event was cancelled as the singer turned out to have health problems. The 70-year-old is now receiving treatment in Paris. Her complete recovery will reportedly take a long time.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Hamazasp Melkonyan, the director of Chronograph Company (which is the organizer of the concert), said the few lucky people who have managed to acquire tickets for Evora's concert can exchange them to attend this event.

"This concert is a gift to our best visitors. A sale exhibition of Breguet watches will follow the event, offering our permanent clients a unique opportunity to enjoy high-quality music," he said, adding that only 400 tickets will be sold as 80% of the audience is expected to enter the concert hall with invitation cards.

Asked by Tert.am whether a second concert with the involvement of wider circles of people is possible, Hamazaspyan said they will do everything possible in future to invite other equally, renowned singers to Armenia for a larger audience.

"But this concert has to correspond to certain standards. Safina, who is coming to Armenia by our invitation, should sing in the best concert hall. The concert should be organized on the highest level to enable our audience to enjoy the best gift," he added.
