The Haykensatekhnologia (ArmBioTechnology) research center is producing 30 to 40 tons of Azotseovit-1 fertilizer, with only 2 to 3 tons consumed in Armenia. One liter of the fertilizer is sufficient for 1,000 sq. meters.

Under the Armenian goverment's decision, more than 225 communities have been provided with Azotseovit-1 at AMD 500 per liter. The communities are to pay for the fertilizer next month. The AR TV channel addressed the topic in its Azdarar program.

Hrach Berberyan, Chairman of the Armenian Agrarian Peasants Union (AAPU), believes that Azotseovit-1 is not so effective as combined fertilizers. "I mean potash and phosphate fertilizers," he added.

Gayane Avetisyan, Senior Researcher at the Haykensatekhnologia center, said that, in contrast to chemical fertilizers, Azotseovit-1 does not pose any threat to human health.

Other fertilizers cause cancer and allergy, whereas Azotseovit-1 can be used for any plant. The fertilizer helps plants to utilize the elements contained in soil, the researcher said.
