France willing to participate in nuclear power plant construction in Armenia

France's willingness to get involved in constructing a new nuclear-power plant in Armenia is worthy of praise, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan told a news conference held jointly with his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy.

"We placed emphasis on the trade and economic component of our relations. I am very glad that Mr. President is willing to encourage French companies' involvement in development programs in Armenia. Effective meetings and discussions enable us to ensure French companies' full-scale involvement in the programs implemented in different sectors of Armenia's economy. We are especially glad about France's willingness to participate in the construction of a new nuclear-power unit at the Armenian NPP, as well as in the development programs that are of vital importance for Armenia," President Serzh Sargsyan said.
