President Sargsyan receives Charles Aznavur

Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan has received prominent French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavur at his presidential residence.

Aznavur’s impresario Levon Sayan, French artists Jerome Revon and Stefan Gato were also present at the meeting.

According to a press release by the presidential office, Sargsyan and the Aznavur spoke of the recent visit by the French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Armenia, saying that it reflected the decades-long friendship between the two people and will be a impetus for further development of relations.

President Sargsyan handed to Levon Sayan an Medal of Honor which he had been bestowed yet in 2009 for his significant role in strengthening relations between the French and the Armenian nations.

Jerome Revon and Stefan Gato were bestowed with Mesrop Mashtots Medal on the occasion of Armenia’s 20th anniversary of independence for their significant contribution in forging Armenian-French cultural ties.
