Film screening initiative Kinoashun draws to end

Armenian film screening festival Kinoashun (Film Autumn) held its closing ceremony in Moscow Cinema in Yerevan on Friday.

Gevorg Gevorgyan, the Director of National Cinema Center, said that the month of film screenings that started from Goris city on September 24 exceeded everybody’s expectation.

Since then more than 100 documentaries and feature films shot from the recent 20 years were screened in various regions and army units.

“This is not a festival, but rather a program aimed at restoring the film-network in Armenia and re-show the movie-goers the way to cinema halls,” Gevorgyan told Tert.am.

“One of the achievements of this year is that the reviewing contest drove great feedback and we received twice as many applications,” he added.

Further, he said that the project will be continuous with more programs planned for the next year.
