Armenian premier meets with Indian delegation
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan held a meeting Nov. 7 with a delegation led by Mr. Sachin Pilot, Minister of State in the Indian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The Armenian government attaches high importance to the development of Armenian-Indian economic cooperation. The countries are cooperating in pharmaceutics, chemical industry, machinery construction and information technologies. The Armenian premier pointed out the government's interest in developing cooperation in the tourist industry as well. In this context, opening air flights would contribute to this process.
Mr. Sachin Pilot thanked the Armenian premier and pointed out the need for new economic ties on the basis of Armenian-Indian historical relations. He assured Premier Tigran Sargsyan that the Indian government is interested in implementing joint programs in various fields.
The sides pointed out the importance of increasing bilateral trade turnover and the private sector's role in this process. The Armenian premier pointed out the need for hard work by the Armenian-Indian intergovernmental commission.
The sides also addressed agricultural cooperation, particularly import of agricultural produce from India, cultural, scientific and educational cooperation.
