Fridtjof Nansen monument to be erected in Yerevan

A monument to famous Norwegian polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen will be erected on the crossroad of Abovyan and Moskovyan streets in Yerevan, as part of celebrations of his 150th anniversary.

The celebrations of the anniversary of one of the greatest friends of the Armenian people will end on November 9. Festive events will start since morning that day.

Later in the day, a book and photo an exhibition will open in the lobby of the Opera House. It will be a good chance for visitors to get familiarized with the biography details of Nansen who saved the lives of thousands of Armenians.

A festive concert is planned in the evening with pieces by Armenian and Norwegian composers to be performed.
