Renowned composer Georgi Movsesyan passes away

Russia based merited composer and song writer Georgi Movsesyan has passed away at age 67, ITAR-TASS reported, citing Vladimir Kazanin, the president of the Russian composer's union.

Georgi Movsesyan was born on August 2, 1945 in Kharkov. He took to accordion in early childhood. A graduate of the Gnessin State Musical College, he composed his first song – "Road" – in 1965. His most prominent pieces include "My Years My Richness", "Birch", "Seeing off Love". In 2001, Movsesyan was recognized a merited artist of the Russian Federation.
