Massive symphony to turn smartphones into an orchestra (video)

A new project called Massive Symphony is aiming to turn the world’s smartphones into a massive orchestra on Nov. 11, 2011 (11/11/11) at 11:11 (GMT +1).

At that time, all the phones that have the 111111 app will join in a massive symphony the world over, Wired.com reported.

The app, which is currently free in the Android app store and “available very soon” for iPhone and iPad, will trigger music each hour until every phone in every time zone has had a chance to join in the cacophony. Once the song is played, a map will show all the places on the planet where phones played in the symphony.
