Armenian vice-premier visits Armavir

Armenian Vice-Premier, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan visited the Armavir region of Armenia, Nov. 11.

Accompanied by Armavir Governor Ashot Kagramanyan, he participated in the opening ceremony of the Myasnikian community school. The school was renovated under the Community Development Program in Baghramyan, implemented by the Children of Armenia Fund (COAF). Designed for 600 children, the school is equipped with a modern library and media center, training center and open classroom. This is the fifth school in the Armavir region renovated by the COAF.

Minister Armen Gevorgyan thanked COAF Founder Garo Armen and expressed hope that the municipal development programs will produce their positive results. He welcomed not only renovation of buildings, but also retraining of personnel.

The Armenian vice-premier visited School #10 in Armavir, which is involved in the 2nd priority program. A total of AMD 50m have been allocated under the program. Renovation will get under way after relevant contracts are signed.

Vice-Premier Gevorgyan also visited School #5, which is involved in the program as well. Under the first program, a total of AMD 90m were allocated and three wings of the school were renovated. Two other wings will be renovated under the second, AMD 79,483,000 worth, program. Thus the school designed for 1,141 students will be renovated.

The Armenian vice-premier also ordered the local official to supervise the quality of work.
