Apple launched iPhone 5 right before iPhone 4S announcement
Until the iPhone 4S was officially launched last month, everybody said that Apple will reveal a whole new iPhone 5.
According to Geeksailor.com, Some Chinese accessories manufacturers even shipped thousands of special cases for a possible iPhone with a 4-inch display.
It was reportedly a disappointment for the million of Apple enthusiastic that were eager to see the launch of iPhone 5, but all they got was an iPhone 4S.
The iPhone 5 prototype is said to have existed and even been tested. The new Apple iPhone apparently needed some fixes here and there and this is thought to be the reason why Jobs didn’t want it to hit the market yet.
An inside source, who even got to test the iPhone 5 prototype for two weeks said for Business Insider that iPhone 5 is real. The “source” seems to have provided secret information about Apple products more than once and, subsequently, all the details turned out to be true.
The same source claimed that the production iPhone 5 was meant to feature an aluminium case, just like the iPad 2 products. He added that Apple wants to use the “liquid metal” technology, in order to be able to manufacture colored iPhones. The “liquid metal” is similar to the aluminium-based paint, fully saturated with color and scratch-proof.
It was also rumored that the iPhone 5′s display had better display colors and it was also speculated that the smartphone Jobs was working on should have featured a Retina display. The iPhone 5 is said to have had no physical Home button, but a capacitive one, which one had to long-press in order to power on the device.
Business Insider quoted the source as saying that the iPhone prototype was thinner, just like it was rumored before the launch of the iPhone 4S. Although the prototype was much faster than any iPhone currently on the market, it seems to have had serious battery life issues.
The iPhone 5 test version reportedly had a 10MP camera with continuous autofocus, and the Siri feature was there, too, but it went under the name of Assistant.
