UN Armenia hosts Arshavir Kirakosyan's exhibition (video)

The canvases of great Armenian artist Arshavir Kirakosyan are on display at the United Nations Office in Armenia.

The exhibition which opened earlier on Wednesday has been organized to mark the International Day for Tolerance.

"Today is a very important day for the United Nations because tolerance is one of our fundamental principles. We find that tolerance paves a way out of many problems that seem unsolvable at first sight," Maria Dotsenko, a representative of the UN Public Information Department, told Tert.am. "We liked Arshavir Kirakosyan's works because they breathe with brightness and love, and love is the pledge of tolerance," she added.

According to Dotsenko, the event aims to hail Armenia's efforts towards promoting tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
The exhibition will run through December 5.

Speaking to Tert.am, the artist said he is very much pleased with the exhibition devoted to the Tolerance Day.


"I have had many exhibitions, both individual and with a group of artists, but this one is especially significant for me because I findtolerance a key principle. The idea never occurred to me while painting. I just depicted the nature and people, but I did that with love. And probably it is love that attracts people," Kirakosyan said.
