Armenians are hospitable, says Russia’s Junior Eurovision contester

Armenians are hospitable and very warn, Katya Riabova, Russia’s contestant in Junior Eurovision 2011 has said in Yerevan.

Speaking at a meeting held at the Moscow House, Riabova said she had only heard about the Armenian cuisine, adding that she has not have a chance to taste it yet.

“I have noticed that people are hospitable in Armenia, warm and friendly,” said Riabova. “Unfortunately I have not managed to taste the local cuisine yet, but I have heard it is very tasty.”

The meeting was opened with the anthem of the Eurovision Song Contest followed by a short biography film about Riabova.

Later, she performed some songs, including an Armenian one, and then responded to questions.

Asked about her feelings when she heard that she was chosen to represent Russia in the European song contest, she said: “At that moment I was enveloped with emotions and each time I remember that moment it seems that my name is being mentioned again”.

Further, she said that her parents are helping her in every occasion, but when it comes to decisions related to art, she is making them herself.

To a question about further profession, she responded: “If you are already on the stage, it will be rather difficult for you to quit it.”
