8th international cinema festival 'Woman' to be held in Yerevan

The 8th international cinema festival 'Woman' is to be held in Yerevan, Dec. 2-5.

"The aim of the festival is reconsidering woman's role in society, covering women's problems by means of films, creating favorable conditions for women to shoot films, discovering new names and organizing international cultural exchange," reported the Lisa fund, organizer of the festival.

Fifty-two films from 16 countries are participating in the festival.

Among the guests are Andrea Wink, Program Executive, goEast festival (Germany), Debra Zimmerman, Executive Director, and Tracie Holder, Consultant - Production Assistance Program (Women Make Movies, USA), Moran Peled (Israel) and Chieko Yamagami (Japan).

Debra Zimmerman and Tracie Holder will conduct a training course for women producers.

The festival program envisages a retrospective show of documentaries by the Lithuania-based producer Janina Lapinskaite. Andrea Wink will present films that participated in the goEAST student contest.
