Reporters from FSU countries to attend IT and High Tech conference in Yerevan
Joutnalists from the leading news outlets of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Georgia have arrived in Yerevan to attend the annual IT and High Tech in Mass Media conference organized by VimpelCom, the head company of Armenia's landline and mobile telephony operator ArmenTel.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Beeline CEO Igor Klimkov said the idea to conduct the meeting in Armenia is based on the company's success in the country.
"We find that we have many achievements in Armenia; that's why we are holding the conference here," he said. "They will conduct an experience exchange for just a couple of days to acquire new skills and get to know the Armenian traditions and culture."
Artyom Minaev, the head of VimpelCom's Public Relations Department for the CIS countries, said modern journalists should have a good knowledge of up-to-date technologies to be able to inform the public of their potentials.
The discussion has brought together over 30 mass media representatives from Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
