New website on Armenian Genocide launched
Ahead of the 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, a new website has been launched to raise public awareness on the 1915 atrocities in the Ottoman Empire, which engulfed Armenians, Assyrians, Anatolians and Pontic Greeks.
The site, available at Genocide1915.org, is aimed at explaining visitors the essence of the tragedy, the developments in the Ottoman Empire in the World War I period and their background. It also contains information on Turkey’s denial policies, the Genocide recognition process, as well as other materials (including photos and videos).
Genocide1915.org is the English version of the Swedish language website Folkmordet1915.org, which was created by the Swedish parliament (rikstag) as part of the efforts towards achieving the Armenian Genocide recognition. The site has been developed by Armenica.org in cooperation with the Union of Armenian Associations in Sweden
