Armenian president receives IAEA Director General

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting on Friday with Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The Armenian leader said atomic agency is of vital importance for the country, and the government attaches importance to cooperation with the IAEA as a major component of Armenia’s energy security.

Yukiya Amano pointed out that the IAEA and Armenia have a common aim: long-term measures to ensure safe operation of the Armenian NPP and close cooperation in constructing a new one.
