Armenian climber joins Georgian rescuers
Armenian climber Andranik Miribyan trapped on Georgia’s Ushba Mountain has overcome the most dangerous sector of the mountain and joined the camp of rescuers at approximately 7.30 p.m. on August 12.
According to Armenia’s emergency situations ministry web site, with the joint efforts of Armenian and Georgian rescuers the Armenian climber was saved.
Before it, the Georgian helicopter was four times trying to approach the climber but failed because of bad weather conditions.
Now Miribyan is safe and sound. After restoring his forces, together with the rescuers he will descend the mountain.
