The year 2013 will see five eclipses, of which two will be solar and three - lunar, Areg Mikaelyan, an Armenian astronomer, told reporters on Friday.

The expert predicts that a very unique eclipse will be also visible in Armenia.

“A hybrid, i.e. total annular eclipse, is expected on November 3. It will also be possible to watch it in Armenia. This year saw six eclipses – two solar and two lunar. None of the solar eclipses was visible to us, while the lunar eclipses could be followed throughout the night. This year was marked by the transit of Venus across the Sun’s disk. That’s a rare phenomenon, likely to re-occur in the 22nd century,” he said.

Mikaelyan added that the Meteor flows expected to continue next year will not be possible to see in Yerevan, with the city being quite abundant in light to make tehm visible.

“Yerevan is quite full of lights, so it will not be possible to follow it,” he said, recommending the people to visit populated places less on that day to watch the magic sight of nature.
