ArmTab officially presented
The first Armenian tablet, ArmTab, was officially presented in Yerevan on Tuesday.
The brainchild of the Armenian IT industry was introduced to public by the founder of Technology & Science Dynamics company, Vahagn Shakaryan, and the president of Minno Tablet, Eric Ryan.
“The idea of ArmTab was first introduced at the international IT exhibition Digitec Expo 2013. At the GITI 2013 regional event, it won the Best Multimedia Project and the Best Software of the Year awards, attracting everybody’s attention,” said Mr Shakaryan.
“Thanks to the Armenian Government’s continuing support, we had a chance to make the Technology & Science Dynamics company an alliance, the first manufacturing company registered in a free economic zone,” the company’s chief explained.
He described the initiative as a good opportunity for launching a more ambitious, comprehensive and strategic partnership that could pave the tablets’ way to secondary schools beginning next year.
Shakryan expressed hope that they will have their own plant in the coming months to promote the sale of the local product.
Asked what makes the device Armenian, he said it is assembled in Armenia and contains Armenian software.
“We are transporting our product to Armenia with a great love, and we are hopeful it will be no worse than other tablets produced worldwide,” he said.
