Cvstos presents 'Proud to Be Russian' luxury watch commissioned by Gerard Depardieu
Cvstos, a Swiss watchmaking firm specializing in luxury watches, has presented its new exclusive watch line, “Proud to be Russian”, which was commissioned by well-known French actor Gerard Depardieu, the Belgium-based Radio Contact reported on Saturday.
Cvstos published a photo of Depardieu, 65, sporting a black leather jacket with a double-headed eagle, Russia’s national emblem, and a black wrist watch with the same emblem engraved in gold on its dial.
The new watch will be available in three versions – with an automatic mechanism, a chronographer or tourbillon. The price has not been revealed.
It’s been a year since Depardieu applied for and was granted Russian citizenship.
“I have recently become a Russian citizen and I am proud of this because I see that in Russia people live very well. I’ve seen a people in the full flower of democracy”, Depardieu told reporters in Chechnya in March 2013 as he began filming a new movie in which some of the action takes place in the Chechen capital Grozny.
