ArmTab production not to bring about radical changes in IT industry – expert

Chairman of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) Hovhannes Avoyan welcomes the production of the ArmTab, tablets made in Armenia.

However, it will not bring about any serious changes in telecommunication technologies.

“I do not know much about ArtTabs. I can say it is a positive step, but I do not think it will bring about any radical changes,” Avoyan told Tert.am.

Such production should be promoted, and more such companies may be established in Armenia.

“Time will show further development, but tablet production is not a great achievement. It is not being designed in Armenia, it is only assembled here. I do not think any large-scale changes should be expected in the IT industry,” Avoyan said.

Creating favorable conditions for business development is among the UITE’s priorities.
