US astrophysicist predicts end of world on June 1 due to acid cloud
US astrophysicist Albert Shervinsky says that the next end of the world is possible today.
The scientist says that Earth can die on 1 June due to an interstellar acid cloud.
A report about a would-be end of the world appeared on the Weekly World News web site on 12 September 2005. Shervinsky believes that the Chandra X-ray telescope discovered an acid cloud sized 10mln miles that was ejected by a black hole in the centre of Galaxy.
This cloud is ostensibly approaching Earth at a nearly light speed. Shervinsky believes that the entire Solar system will be destroyed, rather than Earth alone.
This sensational discovery was immediately dismissed. Competent astronomers stated that there are no telescopes capable of discovering objects sized 10mln miles at a distance of one light year. In addition, there are no clouds of this description near the Sun.
Nevertheless, some people have resigned themselves to the inevitable and are patiently waiting for the end of the world.
