Armenian inventor proposes unique solar heating system
An engineer from Armenia’s city of Gavar (Gegharkunik region) has invented a new exceptional heating mechanism that allows preserving room temperature at 220C during afternoon hours.
All Marat Sinanyan proposes to do is to collect empty tin cans of beer or juice in a glass box, opening a hole for air penetration and exit.
“I came up with the invention several years ago quite by chance. I was working outside, with a tin can full of beer beside me. I bent aside to take the can to drink beer and suddenly slipped and fell down, feeling a strong burn on my face. The tin beer can had become so heated that it wasn’t possible to touch it. I thought I had found a new source of heating; all the rest had to do with putting together more cans into the box,” the inventor said in comments to the state news agency Armenpress.
“The innovative heating device, which releases heavily warm air after air penetration, has to be put on just a sunny side windowsill to ensure up to 22 degrees of heat during winter months. I do not have enough means to have the invention registered and organize production, but I have been heating my house premises with that device for over ten years,” Sinanyan added.
He said that he was the first to install three solar heating panels in Gegharkunik, in 2002. They are still operating.
Sinanyan is a graduate of Saint Petersburg Institute of Textile and Light Industry and worked in Gavar’s textile and light industry as senior engineer.
