Armenia’s government to continue supporting young scientists – Serzh Sargsyan
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan had a meeting with young scientists at the Armenian National Academy of Sciences, on Wednesday.
Persons in charge of the program of support for young scientists informed Mr Sargsyan of the results of the second stage of the program – from July 2013 to February 2015 – as well as of the current work and plans.
The report deals with seven major fields of activities under the support program: financial aid to scientists for international research-related trips, organization of academic conferences and seminars, scholarships, financial support for publication of books and purchase of equipment and materials, publication of young scientists’ articles and presentation of awards.
President Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of the work. He stated the government will continue supporting Armenian science, including young scientists, encourage and develop research as Armenia’s progress is impossible without science.
Young scientists must feel the government’s care, and the government will increase support for science along with increasing possibilities.
